MATTHEW REARDON
Tenor Matthew Reardon is a Principal artist with Opera Australia and Australia’s regional companies.
Matthew is a graduate of WAAPA, The Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts, Perth and The Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust Program, Melbourne. Matthew furthered his studies abroad working with famed mezzo soprano, Marilyn Horne at The Music Academy of West in Santa Barbara, California. He also completed a Masters of Opera at The Wales International Academy of Voice, Cardiff.
Matthew’s professional engagements include ‘Pinkerton’ in Madame Butterfly and ‘Don Jose’ in Carmen with Opera Australia. He performed the ‘Tenor Solo’ in Verdi’s Requiem at the Adelaide Festival in a co-production with the Zurich State Opera and Ballet. Featured roles include the ‘Impresario’ in Mozart’s Der Schaulspieldirektor and ‘Vaudemont’ in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta. ‘Rodolfo’ in Puccini’s La bohème and ‘Vašek’ in The Bartered Bride by Smetana in California.
Most recently Matthew has returned from Perth having just sung the role of ‘Rodrigo’ in Verdi’s Otello with West Australian Opera.
