VIKTORIA BOLONINA
Viktoria Bolonina is an Australian classical mezzo-soprano and contemporary singer. In 2012 she became a semi-finalist on The Voice Australia, with her famous “Bang-Bang” peaking at number 5 on iTunes and number 28 on ARIA charts.
Since her success on the show, she has released her own music, sold out shows all over Australia and performed internationally at Singapore and Belarus.
In 2018 Viktoria graduated with the Patricia Lucas Music Achievement Scholarship with a Master of Music in Opera Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Viktoria has performed principal roles in Henry Purcell’s ‘The Fairy Queen’, Francesco Cavalli’s opera ‘La Calisto’ and Opera Australia’s production of Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’ all presented at the SCM.
In March 2018 Viktoria played the leading role of ‘Kashcheyevna’ in N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera ‘Kashchey the Immortal’ at Melbourne Recital Centre under the direction of Alan Cook of CitiOpera.
In September 2018 Viktoria was a finalist in Acclaim Awards Italian Bel Canto Opera competition.
In 2019 Bolonina was accepted as a Principal Artist into Coast Opera Australia, having performed leading solos in the company’s 2019 Season Launch, Night of Intimacy and 2019-2021 Night of Enticement concerts.
Since 2016 Viktoria has performed every year at the annual Woolworths Carols in the Domain with the “Stars of Australian Opera” on the national television network Channel 7.
Viktoria is a mesmerising artist and vocalist with an unforgettable presence. Her beautiful voice, skills, energy, and comfort on stage have been noticed and complimented many times by credible critics and reviewers.
“Bolonina proved in one fell swoop that Rimsky’s opera is real drama and that Kashcheyevna is fit to stand next to Kundry. Nothing Bolonina did or sang for the entire time she was on stage was wrong. Utterly, utterly accomplished in singing and acting, she could — frankly — have been singing the Yellow Pages: it would have been every bit as riveting.”
