ELIZABETH COOPER

Elizabeth Cooper is a Brisbane born Mezzo-soprano who holds a Master of Music (Operatic Performance) and a Bachelor of Music Performance (Classical Voice) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Elizabeth is thrilled to be a 2025/2026 Young Artist with Opera Queensland and to make her debut with the company in their May performance of Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and then as a soloist for the 2026 Festival of Outback Opera Tour, before her appearance at Newcastle Music Festival in Opera Cocktails. She was a 2022 and 2023 Young Artist with Pacific Opera and was subsequently awarded the 2024 Pacific Opera Studio International Scholarship Judges’ Award in honour of Taryn Fiebig.
Elizabeth performed a number of roles with Pacific Opera across her seasons as a Young Artist including: Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia) andSecond Lady (Die Zauberflöte). Across 2024 and 2025 she has joined the Opera Australia Chorus for Il trittico, Cendrillon, Candide, La Traviata, Rusalka, Carmen, La Bohème, Turandot, Eugene Onegin and Madama Butterfly. This year Elizabeth performed the role of “Matilda” in the Australian premiere of Steven Stanke’s new opera The Monk with Rockdale Opera Company after performing as Meg Page for their 2025 production of The Merry Wives of Windsor.
Other performance highlights for Elizabeth include soloist work for Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Handel’s L’allegro and Messiah, Vivaldi’s Magnificat and Gloria, Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Philharmonia Choir and Fauré’s Requiem. Elizabeth has also performed Australian grown contemporary works with Blush Opera for Songs of the Sirens and Lights On Theatre Company for their 2024 production of Pamphilia To Amphilanthus at the Sydney Fringe Festival.
