Performance Date: Sunday 9 August, 2026 at 2.00 pm at Harold Lobb Concert Hall, with soloists Meechot Marrero, Elizabeth Cooper, Brad Cooper and Christopher Richardson, with the Festival Choir and Festival Voices Newcastle, conductor Aleta King and musicians Duo Mimesi, and Greg Smith.

Information for participants:

  • Rehearsals will be 2 hours each. 
  • You are expected to attend ALL SEVEN rehearsals, unless illness prevents you. Please notify Georgi if you will be absent from a rehearsal. 
  • Evening Rehearsal Dates: 7.00pm – 9.15pm (Includes a 10 minute break) 
  • Tuesdays 23 June | 30 June | (No rehearsal in first week of school holidays) | 14 July | 21 July | | 28 July | 4 August – Adamstown Uniting Church, 228 Brunker Road Adamstown
  • Final rehearsal 10.00am – 1.00pm – Saturday 8 August.- Adamstown Uniting Church, 228 Brunker Road Adamstown
  • Most rehearsals will be seated.
  • Sound check and technical rehearsal at Harold Lobb Concert Hall on the morning of Sunday 9 August.
  • A link to download the music and learning tracks for your voice type will be sent to you via email following registration.
  • If you have asked for a hard copy at registration, you will collect it at the first rehearsal. Otherwise, please bring your iPad or other electronic device to use your online music, on the evening of the first rehearsal. No hard copies will be available UNLESS REQUESTED during registration.
  • You will be asked to familiarise yourself with the music, where possible, by listening to learning tracks made available to you online after registration.
  • You may be required to stand for lengthy periods (maximum 40 minutes) in the performance. Seating on chairs will be provided on stage for breaks in the program.
  • Each choir member will receive ONE discounted ticket for a guest for this concert. You will be sent a code to purchase this ticket at the time of your registration and payment for participation. Choristers do not need to pay for your own ticket to the concert.
  • In addition, all choristers will be offered a free ticket to one of two concerts during the festival.

Participation in the Festival Choir is one of the great opportunities offered by Newcastle Music Festival, and an inspiring and wonderful community experience.
