Performers and program

Since 2016, local creative hub ‘Adamstown Arts’ has been supporting both ‘The Y-Project’ and ‘Lo-Fi’. These two initiatives aim to bring live, local, contemporary music to Newcastle to youth and people of all ages, respectively.

Lo-Fi aims to make a positive contribution to the Newcastle Music and Arts community, and attempt to break down walls of segregation through the means of live music.

This year, Newcastle Music Festival will feature a special Lo-Fi event that will see national artist “imbi the girl” come to join forces with local bands, Shrimp and Cherry Stain.

Lo-Fi events are held at The Dungeon, hidden beneath a Church on Glebe Rd, Adamstown NSW, which has been home to some impressive jazz gigs over the years, becoming a popular venue for national and international touring acts since its modest beginnings in 1996. The Dungeon is proving to be as popular for acts of differing genres, from both the local area and further afield. The biggest drawcard being that it is all about the music.

Lo-Fi is a Not-For-Profit event with proceeds going to local charities.
