Mezzo-soprano Angela Hogan completed a Bachelor in Music Performance at The Victorian College of the Arts in 2007, and has captivated audiences in Australia and abroad.

Hailing from Bendigo, Angela has an eclectic musical background, performing in a variety of musicals, jazz ensembles and even heavy rock bands before finally developing a strong passion for the opera genre.

In 2024 Angela will be performing the role of Flora Bervoix in Opera Australia’s La Traviata, and the roles of Frugola in Il Tabarro, La Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica and La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi (all a part of Il Trittico by Puccini), also with Opera Australia.

In 2023 Angela performed the role of Madame Dangeville and covered the role of La Principessa in Opera Australia’s Adriana Lecouvreur, along with the roles of Grimgerde (Die Walkure) and 2nd Norn (Gotterdammerung) in Opera Australia’s Ring Cycle in Brisbane. In 2022 Angela understudied the roles of Azucena in Verdi’s Il Trovatore, Emilia in Verdi’s Otello, Anna in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda and Mercedes in Bizet’s Carmen. She was fortunate enough to perform the role of Emilia for four performances at the Sydney Opera House.

In 2021 Angela toured Australia with Opera Australia’s National Tour in the title role of Carmen and has been a member of Opera Australia’s full-time chorus since February 2018.
