Festival Sponsors, Friends and Supporters

Help us build the festival!

Great festivals are the product of inspirational partnerships between performers, the festival organisation and visionary supporters and sponsors. There are many ways to assist the festival, through financial or in-kind assistance. Your financial support can take the form of a sponsorship package, or a donation (tax-deductible or otherwise). If you are interested in discussing a sponsorship package, please contact us: newcastlemusicfestival@gmail.com.

As a sponsor, the festival provides a great opportunity to receive substantial coverage through our media and concert programs and promotion.

The inaugural NMF Festival in 2016 attracted 2000 people to 15 events with a promotional reach that included TV and radio advertising, website, newspapers, Facebook and brochures. In 2019 total attendance was near 5000 for 33 events representing a steady, almost a 5-fold increase in audiences for the events curated by NMF. The Festival e-newsletter was received by nearly 6000 subscribers and social media reached an international audience. Despite the forced cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 Festivals, the last-minute COVID-induced cancellation of 2 events in the 2022 Festival, and the community-wide decrease in attendance at all live arts performances, audiences have shown continued enthusiastic support for NMF.

This Festival provides an excellent sponsorship opportunity with prominent visibility to a discerning demographic. An evaluation by our partner the Hunter Research Foundation Centre showed that, in 2019, most of the audience came from Newcastle and Lake Macquarie but almost 20% came from more distant places including Sydney, Canberra, Dubbo, Nowra, Coffs Harbour, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Japan. Furthermore, that largest proportional growth in attendance was in people who travelled from distant places. The Newcastle Music Festival truly puts our beautiful city on the map. We will continue to partner with researchers in the field of marketing and tourism, to evaluate current and future Festivals.

The Newcastle Music Festival is a not-for-profit organisation run by an entirely volunteer Committee and teams of community volunteers who give their time freely to enrich the cultural fabric of the region and to foster and support local musical talent, both established and upcoming. All monies received from sponsors go to support these goals as well as to recruit performers from outside our region.
