Tracy Caldwell-Ostermann (Miss T) is one of the founders, and director of Newcastle Dance Academy, a visionary educator whose passion for dance and commitment to excellence has shaped generations of young artists over the past 30 years.

Her classical ballet training and performance career includes competing in the Adeline Genée Awards in 1988 and the Prix de Lausanne in 1989, before embarking on a professional dance career in London at just 17 years of age. During her time overseas, Tracy toured internationally, returning home, she moved to Melbourne, touring nationally, gaining invaluable experience and creating lifelong memories within the professional dance world.

With a deep understanding of both the artistic and personal development of dancers, Tracy has created a training environment that balances discipline with care, and ambition with community. Her mentorship extends far beyond the studio, guiding students not only toward professional careers in dance, but also into diverse and successful pathways across the arts and wider industries.

Under her leadership, Newcastle Dance Academy has produced an impressive alumni network of 40 professional dancers. Graduates have gone on to perform with international ballet companies, cruise lines, and major productions, with recent achievements including principal artist appointments and performances on some of the world’s most prestigious stages.

A passionate advocate for high-quality dance education, Tracy has also mentored Royal Academy of Dance teachers through their certification, contributing to the development of future educators within the industry.
