TESSA HAYWARD

Tessa Hayward made her role debut as Mimi in Puccini’s La Boheme with Opera Hunter in June of 2023. She will be reprising the role in November with Rockdale Opera.

In 2020 and 2021, Tessa enjoyed being a Young Artist with Pacific Opera performing the roles of Violetta from La Traviata, Donna Anna from Don Giovanni and Sophie from Der Rosenkavalier. In 2019, Tessa Hayward was a Scholar with The Melba Opera Trust where she coached with many industry professionals including Yvonne Kenny, Asher Fisch, and Johannes Fritzsch. 

In 2018, Tessa was awarded second place and the inaugural Dame Elizabeth Murdoch prize at the Herald Sun Aria Final. She was also a finalist in the Limestone Coast Italian Aria Competition, winning the encouragement prize for outstanding potential.

A career highlight was performing in the chorus of Opera Australia’s production of Puccini’s Turandot. Tessa completed undergraduate and post-graduate studies at the Queensland Conservatorium under the tutelage of Professor Janet Delpratt and continues her studies with Glenn Winslade.
