Benjamin Caukwell, baritone, achieved a Bachelor of Music degree with Honours from the University of Canterbury and a Master of Music degree in Performance Voice at the University of Otago. He sang with the New Zealand Opera Chorus before moving to Sydney where he is a member of the Opera Australia Chorus, often performing at the Sydney Opera House.

Benjamin has performed in numerous concerts and operas including the yearly showpiece Handa Opera on the Harbour. Benjamin has appeared as soloist with many musical organisations, including the Christchurch City Choir, Pinchgut Opera and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. He regularly sings with St Mary’s Cathedral Choir and has sung with Bach Akademie Australia. He attended the Lisa Gasteen Opera Programme performing Nicolai’s Merry Wives of Windsor and featured in Blush Opera’s premiere of Chop Chef. He featured in the televised ANZAC Day Remembrance Concert in the Sydney Town Hall performing the New national Anthem.

    Friday August 9, 5.30pm Our annual favourite Opera Cocktails takes place in “The Barn” at beautiful Stanley Park, with wonderful artists from Opera Australia and the marvellous Claire Howard Race on piano.
