Bach Akademie Australia is a dynamic and expert group of internationally recognised instrumentalists and singers which aims to share with all Australians the inspiration and joyful excitement found in the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. They appear this year with singer Miriam Allan.
Christ Church Camerata will perform a new chamber version of Mahler’s First Symphony arranged by David Banney in the Festival Finale.
Co-founder of the Newcastle Music Festival, and described in the Hunter Lifestyle magazine as “quite possibly the busiest and most multi-talented man in the Hunter”, David has established a significant profile as a conductor, composer, violinist and educator. He has arranged Mahler’s first symphony for chamber ensemble, and conducts Christ Church Camerata in the premiere of this arrangement in the Festival’s final concert.
